Vrontados, Chios which is a smaller town with about 5300 inhabitants within Chios island , is today also known as a suburb of the capital Chios. Tiny but worth seeing! – Pirama

Pirama is a cute little village situated in the north western part of Chios Island. There is only a distance of 4 kilometers to the village of Volissos and 44 kilometers to the Capital. It s part of the Municipal Unit of Amani.You will find the village on a hill’s flat top, 220 meters elevation. The population is super small! Kourounia

The village of Kourounia consists of four settlements (mahalades) and lies just behind the village of Egrigoros and about eighteen kilometers away from Volissos.   The region is famous for the production of a local wine called kourouniotiko, which is said to come from the well-known ‘Ariousian’ wine of the antiquity. It embraces Kourounia and the mountainsides surrounding. Kardamyla

The borough of Karadamyla is built on the site of ancient Kardamilis, 28 kilometers from the city of Chios. Giving around 2000 inhabitants a home the town is divided into two settlements. The houses have a deep traditional architecture: Narrow streets, curbstone alleys and covered passages are typical Greek features. The same accounts for the houses mainly built with stone and decorated with flowers and plants.
